The One With 2012 Resolutions

I always make resolutions but never commit to them! Will 2012 be any different? I hope so!

- Save money
- Finish my studies
- Start to learn driving
- Get my tonsils removed
- Revamp my non-existent Facebook
- Start exercising regularly and slim down
- Stop yearning for a relationship or do something about it
- Etc.

The One With 2011

I came here with the intention of reviewing my so-called life in 2011. As it turns out, it’s so pathetic and boring that I can’t even remember much of it. I would say December was an emotional yo-yo for me, and things couldn’t have ended worse.

School: The 1st semester was alright, but the 2nd semester was terrible. I seriously screwed up the 2nd semester. I spent so much time focusing on work (and lazing around when at home), that I neglected my studies! The papers I sat for in December were done so badly, I expect to fail everything.

Work: I quit my job in March to ‘focus on my studies’ (look how well that turned out), but ended up working elsewhere in June. Overall, I have been performing quite well at work. For the amount of work done, the pay stinks. The benefits there are even worse! In order to gain some work experience, I have to stick around for 1 year (and wait for my bloody promotion!!). My colleagues are fine, but I haven’t exactly made friends with any of them. I had a workplace crush on the Associate Director. Too bad he’s from another division, and I never got to work with him. That, plus he left the company. DAMN!

Social: I started and ended with the same number of friends. On the plus side, I feel closer to the handful of friends I have (I can count them with my 5 fingers). Probably because they know that I am as gay as the day is long. I am so socially awkward that I don’t know how to ‘make friends’. Too self-conscious I guess. Sure I would like to make more friends, but it doesn’t matter that much as long as I have those few friends to keep me sane.

Relationship: This has got to be the crappiest! I’ve had crushes everywhere. Celebrity crush, workplace crush, school crush, crushes at first sight! WTF! The worst thing about crush is how you can feel so sad about not being with your crush. As if I can ever be with a Hollywood celebrity. I almost wanted to approach my school crush, but I’m was and am still a wuss. Hopefully I’ll get to see him in the same class this coming semester. The hopeful me really thought I saw a ray of light in December. However, it was just a dream. It hurts when you like someone who doesn’t like you back. It felt like my heart was stolen by thieves!

Health: What can I say? I’m getting older. I’m 23 turning 24 in 2012, and the rainy weather’s already hurting my knees! With weight gain, chubbier cheeks and a slight double chin forming. I have been coughing non-stop with scratchy throat and all sorts of nasal problems. Not to forget, the lack of sleep, or exercise and the occasional smoking.

Others: This is gonna sound sad and pathetic to the general masses, but the anti-social me has managed to find some nice music and TV shows to keep myself entertained. For music, a huge chunk of credit has to be given to the PopJustice forum. The name of the site says it all; it’s a forum mainly to discuss pop music. It’s pretty gay, but certainly very entertaining. I mainly read through the threads and don’t participate in the discussions. This is what I do when I commute every day. Though this forum, I found god some nice pop tunes! As for TV, it’s all about ABC. New shows like Suburgatory, Revenge and Once Upon a Time (sad about the soon-to-be-cancelled Pan Am; Mike Vogel needs to be on TV!!) and existing shows like Happy Endings, The Middle, Modern Family (where the hell is my Cougar Town by the way?!?). I love TV shows. The X Factor (UK) was good, mainly because a girl group won – Little Mix!

Oh wow, I wrote a whole lot of crap, and somehow feel a little better.

I am walking down the streets, staring at the sky, dragging my two feet, with tears in my eyes, singing “The Last Goodbye”.

I see myself as a very realistic person, but at the same time, I am so hopeful.

Here’s hoping! *wink wink*

The Saturdays - On Your Radar (#23)

The Saturdays’ new album charted at a miserable #23?! I’m sorry girls, but Nicola Roberts has a few words to say.
